My Daily Picture

One year for I don't remember what, I received a rose plant ( the grocery store kind) as a gift from a student. They normally sit on my desk and die, so this must have been an end of the year gift. Well, this rose has taken off. We planted it and it has no idea it is a grocery store rose bush, let me tell you. The blossom is stunning. It just goes to show you, what people think of you doesn't matter - what you believe does. This bush thinks it is a NURSERY rose bush all the way!

We watched the Disney "Tall Tales and Legends"  countless times in our younger homeschool years. The bugs would walk around singing this song. Who knew years later I'd have my very own John Henry. He was less than thrilled with my picture taking. Darn. Would have loved an action shot!  Wonderful, marvelous, The man with the strength of many. Brave and bold with a heart of gold, John Henry was a mighty man. Born with a hammer right in his hand. Well, come on John, You're the one that we're depending on. Swing that hammer with all your might, I know you can show them how to do it right. John Henry, John Henry, John Henry is a mighty man. Born with a hammer, A ten pound hammer, A twenty pound hammer right in his hand.

I can't help myself. I think by the time quarantine is over I will have a whole album of funny memes. This is my favorite this week! 

It's fun to be working in the yard and find the random leftover Easter Eggs. It happens every year. Lauren and Alex even went back out in the daytime and didn't "find" any. Anthony found the blue one, I found the green. A squirrel found one the other day and busted it open and ate the candy. I found the wrapper!

So I never have been much of a cook. I look for any excuse to go out... but #1 I don't have a job and we need to conserve money. #2 There is a stay at home order and while I support businesses ( See #1) I t is not necessary to go out.  I have been looking for new recipes that align with my core lazy cooking philosophy. This one for Macaroni and Cheese nailed it. I didn't even have to cook the noodles first. BAM! 

Proof I need to get out more. I went on a walk...found my FIRST EVER painted rock. ( I left it to bring joy to others.) When I got home you would have thought I won the lottery by the way I was shouting with excitement.

We don't normally use hand sanitizer - but all that has changed. I don't think I'll ever be without it again. Our neighbor gave us two small bottles (tiny, purse sized ones) that I am extremely thankful for. Then my long time friend and business owner posted her sanitizer was back in stock - YIPEE! Not only did I REALLY need it - but I get to support a small business - and a HOMESCHOOL MOM! What a win-win. Anthony brought home more Coffee - he said his choices were this one (Hazelnut Cream) or Hazelnut Vanilla. He also said he knew NOT to get the Hazelnut Vanilla or I would throw it at him... My past has caught up with me. Vanilla coffee and I do not get along. 

This year's Egg hunt was "postponed" a week - but that didn't matter. It was a HUGE hit. They LOVED the glow in the dark eggs and the confetti eggs. I will definitely be doing that again. They Love the Egg hunt - 16, 17, 18 and 18 years old!  I love making them happy!

Yes, I'm taunting you - sorry. Setting up my work station outside was one of the best decisions EVER. Why did it take a Pandemic to do it? I have lived in this house as an adult for 11 years??? I have ALWAYS found peace in the yard. 

Grace Turned 5 this week. Breaks my heart we can't have a real party for her. I am after all a Party person - especially for the milestone birthdays like 5. I got in the car this morning and recorded a series of videos ending at her house. There is a package waiting for her when she wakes up. I had to do SOMETHING to make the day special. 

On Friday I played BINGO with my friends.... They are all very near and ear to my heart and know me inside and out. I started out telling them that there was no such thing as a "Tie" game - we would play to the death... and then, in the final game... I reminded them I was truly a sore loser and not to be surprised if I just slammed my computer closed and disappeared when I lost... But Guess what???  I won the Final Game! I was so excited! My poor friends - I am SO BLESSED they put up with my CRAP!

I don't know which of us is enjoying the time in the yard more- the animals or myself. Princess is obsessed with the birds. It cracks me up. I have to stop letting it distract me from my work!

Our grocery bill isn't *that* much, but this meme cracked me up.  I'm actually thankful for the money we are saving  - especially the not driving the kids to school. It reminds me of the "old days" when we homeschooled and we only had one car. I had to be mindful of groceries. If I didn't have it, I didn't have it. Wherever we went had to wait until Anthony got home with the car... and now with the stay at home orders, we just stay home, happily. It was like putting on an old comfy pair of shoes. We've done this before!

How blessed to be able to work by the fire. Iced Coffee, My Computer and a cozy fire. Simple pleasures.

My boy loves his game time. When this whole virus-crisis started, his school continued as usual. The benefit of being homeschooled. Poor kid watched everyone around him get these huge breaks. Well, the thing of it is, they were just learning differently, because if you buy into my philosophy - everything is learning. So now it's his turn for a break and to learn differently! Happy Spring Break my sweet boy!

Pretend there's a blizzard. Staying home isn't so bad!  Ha ha. I was changing my sheets today and decided to let it snow. I love the scenic videos on You tube. They relax me. Today was a snow storm. Wasn't even cold! They say that the stress and worry can make you sick. I'm not going to let stress and worry get me!

This is my husband's  favorite dinner. It's so unbelievably easy. So why haven't I made it in sooo long? Who knows. Lauren said, it was really good Momma, why haven't I had it in all of my 18 years? He eats it on a plate with ketchup. Dinner, done.
